Came home to this yesterday. Big Aspen fell over my drive. Went and fetched the Gator to haul a bunch of stuff out of the car to my home. It's pretty good size Bigtooth Aspen. I've noticed they regularly seem to break or fall over...

    Now the cleanup begins.... :)

Looks like others are down, not too deep into the woods

Yea... Couple more Aspens that came down last year. If you look close you will see where one hit the second and knocked it over and is first is laying up on the rootball. I have no interest in more Apsen firewood since I have a fair amount already, but will probably take this one since it's so convenient and I'm forced to cut it up anyway if I ever want to use my driveway again. Great for starting fires or burning coals down in the morning.

I don't have too many left, maybe about 20 trees or so. I might girdle a few next year.

No they do not, I don't go out of my way to get it, just happened to be a few trees when I was clear cutting.

Two shakes of a lambs tail... :) I'll leave the main trunk until the ground firms up. Already have the small branches cleaned up, just need to break out the 361 for a few minutes. Snowing now, I'll take care of it in the AM....

That's for sure! Yet, the further north you go, the longer they last. And they burn better too.
