Miss July got me a Benchmade knife for our 25th anniversary.:dex:
    She is awesome!
Sadly I can't find the picture right now:confused:

but it was a little bigger than I like to carry, so I had to get another one just a bit smaller. I really like the size and shape of this one. This will be my EDC

Wow fellas a lot of awesome knives you have ! I guess I'm kinda stuck in my ways as I've had a Buck 110 on my belt for 40 years or more. Not the exact same one of course.

So your wife bought you a 580 Barrage and you bought a mini barrage also? I can certainly understand as the full size barrage is a biggy, nice but big.

I bought the 580 off a guy at work (real cheap). I took it all apart and cleaned it up, but he had tried to sharpen the blade with a chainsaw, at least it looked that way. Other than the deep scratches, the thing is sharp and cuts great and the blade steel doesn't seem to be hurt from whatever he used to sharpen it with.

I did de-assist mine as I am planning to send it to Benchmade for a new blade (when the border pirates stop stealing our totally legal knives) and will put the coil spring back in it to make it an AO again.

OK....update??? I remembered someone got one of these minimalists and dug back in time and found you. Years later what is your opinion of it? Still carrying, wear on knife or sheath, quit carrying and why, modifications??????

My EDC is one of these Kershaws.

Not too expensive and they work well for odd jobs.

Top is a chive 1.8", bottom is a leek 3". Chive typically goes to work, leek is for weekends. I lost the leek for awhile and missed it enough to buy another before finding it out in the garden. Now I have two so I plan on gifting one to my brother-in-law who has expressed interest in owning one.

I like those leeks. I watch that show bizarre foods with Andrew Zimmerman and he whips one out every so often.

I carry my Leek pretty much every day. It's slim and light enough that I hardly notice it's there. Evenings and weekends it's either the Blur or my mini-griptilian.

I stopped carrying it. I broke the sheath for it and never fixed it. I have a love/hate relationship with carrying things on my belt. The sheath still locks up tight to it and all that I'm just pretty hard on stuff. I think I hiked my climbing belt up and bent it awkward one day. My boy has one and hasn't broken his and he could break an anvil same as me. For the price I would say it's pretty decent and if you can stand a neck knife it would be ideal for that.

Picked up my first Kershaw on sale for $15 from Cabela's. It's the 3/4 Ton. Nice knife but I figured the 3/4 Ton was a model and not a weight:confused: Man this knife is heavy. Going to need a set of suspenders to keep my pants up if I use this as an EDC knife.

    SOTC as of January 2019

I seem to be winding down my voracious appetite for purchasing new knives, at least I hope so. I started losing my interest back in the summer but I just bought my last one, a standard BM 940 (or at least hopefully for the time being). I have enough now to keep me in knives for the next several years. If a real killer deal shows up, then maybe I'll bite, at least until I fully retire in 2020.

I will still enjoy everyone posting their knife pictures to this thread and salivating over them. Please keep the pictures coming.

Which is your favorite or the one you carry the most?

And then, Sophie's Choice. Theoretically you can only keep one...which one is it?

As you can see I prefer Benchmade's. I like them all but if I had "my druthers" it would be a 940. Probably why I have 3 of them. Well 2 940's and a 943 but they really are the same thing.

My Dad had a BUCK 301 Stockman jackknife when I was growing up. It was always razor sharp and held an edge forever. I found a "new in box" old BUCK 301 like the EDC he owned and bought it.

Nice. I really need to get a couple of Buck traditional knives. Just have to be careful and not grab the "made overseas" ones.
