    Popple. Cottonwood. pizz wood. Looks like it’s already cut up and ready to split. I’d split and stack, she’ll burn. Cottonwood is a hardwood technically but it’s burns super fast, wouldn’t go too far outta my way.

    Looks like the cottonwood that grows in the creek bottom of my property. Lower BTU but is okay for shoulder season fuel. If it's close, real close, take it. :tip:

    Cottonwood gets a bad rap but can serve you well. It is not a good wood for holding fires a long time so not a night wood but daytime works great. Also spring and fall works great.

    We have to remember there are many on this forum who burn cottonwood as that is about all they have but they get along just fine.

    Yes sir been here all my life altho not in the city any more in the county now. Drugs and unemployment hit this city hard last 20 yrs
