Haa missed this one can you say 3-4 On single digit evening's and morning's easy 3 and almost 4 Could not sleep last night so tried to sleep in this morning woke up to the oil burner chugging away as both stoves were out with just a bit of pellets left which funneled. Oil burner kicks on at 58* so was a wee bit chilly in the house this morning was wondering why the cat jumped up in bed and snuggled up not his usual behavior .
Round about a bag and a half. Needs to dip below 0*F for the 2 baggers for me....... Now beer on the other hand!
yes, as well as certain brands of stove will also dictate frequency....I know of folks like myself who clean about once a month, but I know of others who clean every day or every other day
I started out 10 years ago cleaning at least once a week. Now its when the ash pan is almost full (maybe monthly) with maybe a quick firebox brushing if the stove can be off for an hour. If burning all the time and using good pellets there is no need to shut down that much at all.
I like the idea of a pellet incinerator. They do seem expensive for one that purportedly works as advertised. Thoughts?
Once a month is good policy. I clean the flue after 1.5 tons but more probably better depending on your environment. But I've also just got in the habit of scraping the burn pot quickly everytime I load a bag. Takes me a minute to gaurantee ignition and prevent overflow cleanups and restarts
Got me on both of these and to keep my stoves running optimal which is a must I do a serious cleaning once a week, the cleaning most only do every couple of months or once a year . I'm good with that as I love a clean stove running like it did the day you brought it home. With less than excellent pellets I will fill the ash pan in a week easy if its cold out...
I kid you not. I empty my as tray once a month if that. My pellet stove keeps me quite busy. It would seem you are married to yours.
