I am thinking and dreaming of warmer days to come and... I remember at my Grandparents cabin in northern Minnesota, a cage kept next to the dock for keeping live fish in. Every couple years Gramps would build a new one because the wood frame rotted out and chicken wire was rusted through. Do any of you use these and what do you build out of to extend their lifespans? Any good repurposed ideas? What to use to keep them from plugging full of "seaweed"? I think to fight off winteritis I may build one for at the camper.

I've seen them but never used one. I don't know but maybe cedar or locust for rot resistance.

Very common around here for blue crabs. All wire mesh and foam floats, should last years...
