Oooo la la. 16% MC split off a round that had been sitting around covered for a few years. The splits are pretty light.

I'm guessing same as us, only split at all if it's extra large stuff and pretty much right before it goes in the furnace. His she'd is on a different property than his house, so it still has a trailer ride yet before being burned

No just fire wood. Red cedar schlot , it is tough on saw blades. The fiskars actually threw sparks on one of the splits. Some sap must have heated up from the maul strike. First time I've seen that.

That is so purty it's almost a shame that you'll be burning it.

Bet it smells real nice too.

I am still full from lunch. We had a few beers too. Looking forward to getting out and active out on the lake in the morning. No pressure on the fishing at all...the two pike from yesterday morning are deboned and ready for the grease tomorrow night.

I would like to know the outcome of this. You did the right thing just to listen. Then call them back using a number you know not to be fake.

Nice catches there. Do you folks eat the burbot? In MN they are often eaten by those in the know. I have enjoyed eating them myself. There is a whole festival dedicated to this fish in Walker MN on Leech Lake called Eel Pout Fest. It is mostly an excuse to burn off some cabin fever, drink and get together. There is a parade and a lot of quirky merriment.

Yeah, we call them lawyers as well. Eelpout, lawyers, burbot, all the same thing, freshwater cod. VERY good eating.

It was -8* at 6am. as of now at almost 10pm it's -4* again. We were thrilled to see the sun today after a couple overcast days :)

How is is out east there?
And I heard the east coast is wallopped with snow and that Stinny is having fun in it.

We've got some snow on the ground... about 8" of frozen crust. Looks perty anyway. That big storm went south of Maine and missed us... :zip:

Haven't seen more than a dusting here. Only snow we have seen was a single 3-4" event about 8 weeks ago.

Supposed to get something this coming weekend though.

Been really mild here...30s so it's been light jacket westher. We are suppose to see below zero this weekend though so we may need something a bit heavier. :)
