Yeah, my burn barrel is not doing so great. It should get adequate air flow though. Lol.

If we ever meet up, and I'm not on my bike, I'll take you up on that barrel.

My cutting buddy just said he'd go me up with a new barrel. He'll even cut the top off for me.

When I was a teenager our church did an annual camping trip...there was a bunch of cabins in the woods with a large common area kinda in the middle...that's where the campfire was...a bunch of us kids stayed up late and we were tossing junk in the fire...it progressed from sandstones to aerosol cans as the night wore on...had to wait a while in between KABOOMS! so that the adults would go back to bed and quit peeking out the windows to try to catch the lil rascals responsible for disturbing the peace.
Finally had to give it up and go to bed after the buildings were picked clean of all sprays cans...mysteriously there were a couple cranky women having a "bad hair day" the following morning...dunno why they all forgot their hairspray...
Couldn't look the pastor in the eye for a bit...:emb:

Off to do some cutting tomorrow am. I'll remember to take some pictures.

I already got gas for the saw and the ATV, and splitter. I just need to stop and buy some oil for the saw gas. I want to stop in by fleet farm and get the amsoil sabre, as I like that best, but stopping at O'Reilly's to get Lucas oil is easier. Fleet farm on a Saturday is a zoo. Plus I'll have a trailer. Decisions....

I have to remember to bring my spare chains too.

    Ok, here's some pictures.

    Work from last Saturday

2 downed box elders from last Saturday. The first one is pretty big. ~20"

Then this one was to be dropped today. The one on the right with half the bark on it.

Here it is on the ground.

There's some nice red in this one. I'll split it tomorrow to see how nice.

    Here's more pics from today

A load to go to the pile...

A pile of box elder rounds.

The big one is already dry enough to burn. I took a smaller round home last week, and after splitting it and taking moisture meter readings, it was put in the stove.

I also took a load of 3 or 4 yr seasoned oak, and seasoned ironwood, sugar maple, elm, and a couple of basswood pieces home today, along with my new to be a burn barrel.

I'll get pics of that load tomorrow as I was tired and just wanting to watch football and eat.

The piece I brought home is a short. probaby 9-10", it would be perfect for that. Now, how to get it to you. I've got more from that tree though, and more elders to cut down, so there are more opportunities.
