Finally set up my 620 today. Was in a bit of a hurry since we wanted to get some wood cut while it was light, so I neglected to get more pics. Ground 5 chains, two that needed a couple passes since the teeth had hit a tooth on an excavator. I love this thing! I've used the Harbor freight cheapy up til now when I needed to address major damage. It worked OK, but took way longer. I ordered a CBN wheel for 3/8" chain a few minutes ago, looking forward to see how much better it is. I priced a local company and they are 60% higher than Diamond wheel inc. I have a few more chains to hit, but as I mentioned, they needed to wait since we wanted to cut some downed Ash while the field is frozen and we can haul it back to the house without rutting it up. One note, YouTube videos said wheels were pretty decent out of the box. Not mine. Both radius wheels needed trued up. They were very out of round. Didn't take much to make them serviceable, but it needed done.
Looks great. Best friend gave me a grinder (Oregon clone I believe). Have not taken the time to check it out and get it working. Never used a grinder before, just hand file, ok at best using that.
Congrats Casper. I bought the 420 ? version. No hydraulic chain grabber on mine. I love the thing. The CBN wheels are the way to go. No more having to keep the wheels in correct form with a shaping stone. I will never be without one of these again.
So where did you order the CBN wheel? I'm sure if I searched I would find links, but then, I am very lazy. Most chains are 3/8" chisel, but also have 3/8" low profile and .325. Thanks
