    Actually I'd me more concerned at the style of blower that looks more suited to be a convection blower than a combustion.

    It is an old squirrel cage design exhaust blower that does not have the quick change hub for easy cleaning! The squirrel cage easily cakes with ash and gets out of balance and can make a lot of noise. All the newer models now use impeller blades but still do not have the quick change hub. :-(
    This is the second blower I have seen this happen to and many of these stoves were sold and still out there.

    I was definitely looking at it wrong... I thought it was an impeller that was completely caked.
    Now I see the squirrel cage....
    (it's still nasty though..)

    The only thing left of the squirrel cage is the base plate and outer ring as you can see!

    That's just a dumb design for a pellet stove.....gas furnace yes, pellet stove no bueno

    LOL that's bad!I have no idea what stove that would be,seems to me old Whits used a blower like that,but not on the exhaust?

    The older Danson’s Pelpro, GloBoy, Cheap Charlie and Vulcan Wood Pellet stoves and those blowers are made by A.O. Smith. There are very many still out there!
    The new pelpro’s made by HHT have the 9 petal Quadrafire impeller blades but does not have the quick change mounting hub :-(
