In the past year I have made 2 bonehead moves with my truck. One was while getting firewood.... 20180228_102259.jpg
Drove a little too far into a field to back my trailer in....had to call a tow truck....
Second and biggest bonehead move was on Christmas day.... I was having company over and wanted to make room in my driveway for other cars. I drove up through my backyard, and when I tried to stop and back up near one of my wood stacks, I didn't stop.... It's a slight downhill slope towards my deck, and it was all slick mud....Well needless to say, truck kisses deck with front fender....In the process of trying to get out, the whole truck proceeds to parellel park itself right up against the deck railing. I had someone with a truck try to pull me out with no progress, just more damage, and their tires tearing up another part of the yard....I finally got really aggravated and strapped on my truck claws....I eventually got out, but with considerable damage to my truck. 20181226_150904.jpg
The wife wasn't too happy with my bonehead stunts, and I didn't know wheather to laugh or cry. I did both while consuming almost a gallon of homemade wine in the next 3 hours.
What are some of your bonehead moves with vehicles to make me feel better?

Yep, that about sums it up.....

I’ve done some things with my vehicles when younger, but well before the advent of cell phones and their onboard cameras.

I once had a 53 Plymouth. Friend wanted to race and I foolishly accomadated him. After all, I knew my car was better than his. Road was not too wide but I got around him in no time. Road was also paved, but very rough. Car was also old. After riding what felt like rough seas, the floorboard gave out. Sparks were flying because the seat was on the pavement. Have you ever tried to drive a car at high speed while sitting on a seat that was so low you could not see over the hood of the car? Well, I did somehow manage to get the car stopped. The how to proceed? I simply ripped an old fence post from a neighbor's field and rammed it in under the seat so I could drive. NOw I was too high... But I got home okay then fixed it with a patented wood floorboard. It worked.

3 speed tranny parking on hill , set parking brake- well tried to set parking brake as stomping on the peddle ripped the floor out from underneath me and the seat. Course in that same instant of rearranging the seating I knocked it out of gear ( eng off) rolling backwards over what tiny little curb there was, that yard lite had no effect on that 75 Granada except to rip open the gas tank, managed to get some pressure on the brake peddle and jam it in gear in time to not mangle anything else, except the yard lights owner's front lawn. about a minute all told. Couple weekends of landscaping , new yard light , new electrical line and stitch a new floor in car , remount seat, replace gas tank.

Oh boy have I got some of these stories, much of my life has involved bone headed moves with vehicles. There's been many times I've gotten stuck in either a truck or tractor as well. I used to have friends come over once in a while and I'd tell them to drive through this certain spot in the back field knowing they would get stuck in it, then I could harass them about their truck getting stuck.

Haven't gotten my truck stuck in a couple years now, last time I did was when I decided I needed something from around the barn and didn't need to take the time to go out on the road and take the easy way. It didn't seem that wet after all.

Started slipping and wound up sliding sideways a little more each time I tried to get out. Had to get pulled out with the tractor

A few years ago, when my wife and I were dating, there was a summer that it didn't rain a bit. Well one day we saw storm clouds a little ways off in the distance, since she is into weather stuff and we didn't have anything else to do we headed in that direction. That turned out to be quite an interesting adventure.

Over 10 thousand in damages and I wound up with all new body panels and paint and a windshield, so I kinda got a new truck out of the deal.

One time I was bush hogging when I thought "I wonder why nobody ever bush hogs that area over there?" I soon found out after the belly of the tractor quickly met the ground. Had to pull to the bush hog away from the tractor with my truck, dig the tractor out with a shovel and then get dad and his truck to pull it out.

Got my dad's truck stuck once, he got in the truck and i got the tractor. After I pulled him out with the tractor he backed straight up into a tree, he overflowed with joy from that.

There was this one time, returning from a duck hunting trip, that the three of us in the truck all fell asleep. Wound up upside down on the other side of the interstate, I woke up just in time to see it happen. I was in the passengers seat, driver was ejected, our other friend was laying in the back seat and didn't wake up until it was all over. Everybody survived, only the driver had serious injuries, about a 6 month recovery time for him. The Good Lord wasn't done with us yet.

Not where we wrecked, truck was brought there afterwards. I don't recommend sleeping while driving.

    Granada driver's unite!!!!

I once tried to drive my Granada through a deep spring time road side puddle. Well... It stalled. And I got soaked. I called Dad. He pulled me out of the water filled ditch with the Bronco. I think he laughed after it was done. The car was fine, after a bit of isopropyl in the gas tank.
