The main go to saws for me. I have some others, but never really use them.

saws.jpg I had picked up the 391 used to take over for the older 041 farm boss and ended up getting the 250 new when they were on sale. Both have muffler mods and aftermarket felling spikes. They're sitting on my sharpening slab.

Yup me too. See those quite often around here myself, both in town & out in rural areas. Just scary, and most who do it like that will be proud & think they're actually a truly skilled timber faller.... :picard::rolleyes:

Swopped the 281 top for a new Meteor 288xp this morning.
Had to pull a decomp valve off a 55. Need to be careful because it didn’t close once.
It starts way easier than the 281 top with the double ring piston.

The fact that the cuts are 180 degrees out makes me think the cutter at least has seen some one do it before, but doesn’t fully comprehend the physics. I’m not a pro but I can’t think of a reason for the back cut to be at an angle. Hopefully they watch the lean and plan the escape route.

Here’s my fleet. The saws on the left is what I use. Saws on the right are possible projects. [IMG]
