Managed to get in a bit of firewood time this weekend. Working on primarily cherry now. Also had a few leftover I joists that I figure I would try and make some stacks on, hopefully they stay upright.
Nice looking log yard! What the heck is that eyebolt looking thing in the round? Do you have an after split picture?
I'm sure glad you found that with the splitter and not the saw. I like how you lift the rounds to the super split with the grapple. that is the only down side to having a super splitter.
I was wondering also on the long term of that laminated beam. Do you have it at a slight angle so it drains water to one end or have you drilled drain holes in them??? Enquiring minds want to know don't 'cha know.
I'll keep you guys updated on the Laminated beam. I kept them off the ground with 6" PT. I did not drill any holes or pitch them for water runoff. Even if I can get 2-3 years out of them that's fine. Should be an interesting experiment to see how long they last. Just hope they don't fall over first
