i wentto look at this on Tuesday but owner had no tstat and no power cord. This morning I borrowed a cord from a friend and put a jumper on the tstat terminal. Threw a handful of pellets in the pot and plugged her in and bingo we have fire. Watched the control box as it cycled through and all went well. Convection fan kicks on and runs smooth. Hasn’t been used in the past 3 years but hasn’t been cleaned either which in this case is a good thing I guess. No rust inside the stove fire box and just minor rust on the body but that’s an easy fix. I’ll give her a good cleaning and some new gaskets and she’ll be good to go. Plan is to put it in the basement where I already have Selkirk DT pipe installed from my last stove which I sold back in October

Good stove......I still think my 1200 may have heated slightly better than my 3 Mt. Vernon's I've had in my house the past two years. They're also super easy to work on.

So I got a chance to tear into the stove today. Cleaned it good and hit it with compressed air. Then hit it with the leaf blower trick. Removed what I could from the stove including combustion blower, convection blower and vac switch. At some point I’ll sand out the rust and repaint it. I have a couple questions. 1st is how to remove the pot. Is it just one bolt underneath by the igniter. And how do you remove the igniter. I already tried and if I slide the igniter to the right it hits the wall. 2nd is on the convection blowerwhats the secret to removing the wheels to clean them and can it be lubed. And last. I misplaced one of the 6 screws from the combustion blower. What can I use as a replacement

Once you loosen/remove the two bolts on top of the pot you'll be able to spin the pot to get the igniter out.....you'll need to remove the dump rod too...

You'll need to remove the snap springs from the inside ends of the plastic wheels (if that's the style you have).....if no springs move to next step. After, you'll need to try and spin one of the wheels back and forth and at the same time trying to spin the wheel off. After you get one wheel off you'll need to get a vice grip (needle nose in my case) and clip in in the end you just took the wheel off....you'll need to protect the shaft by placing a piece of rubber (bike inner tube in my case) to keep from marring the shaft.

Just use a metal screw or self tapper to replace lost screw.

Thank you for that vid. That’s what I was thinking but didn’t want to go at it till I was sure. And thanks for the tip on removing the pot. Hope to tackle that tomorrow. Towards the end of my cleaning I found this sitting on top of the Pellets in the hopper. Any idea if it’s part of the stove and if so where it goes. Also the tubes are all secure and it has the clear control box

That a plastic bushing for the small hopper lid hinge...should be one on each side... Dab a little silicone on them and insert those on the stud, they will stay in place then

That would explain why the small hopper door keeps falling out. I’ll have to take a look and see if the other one is there. Any idea if the combustion and convection blower are original or OEM. I’m new to quads

Thank you. Very happy so far. Gonna order up all the gaskets tomorrow. They want $30 for a pair of those plastic bushings for the hopper lid so I’ll have to at least explore other options for those. What gasket did you use for the door. I’ll have to download the manual also

Any 7/8" door gasket will work...I prefer the graphite impregnated stuff but you could use whatever.

Yeah, they're crazy for what they get for those pieces of plastic. I've already used a piece of silicone tube that just fits over those bushing pins. The only drawback is after repeated openings the lid will wear through silicone but it does work in a pinch.
