Water was weak or gone most of the weekend...... got a letter stating that the bill is going up to 12 bucks a month as of this month (we knew that well in advance), some changes in the committee, and some more notable statements such as a threat to dig up the pipes and disconnect any house found to be knowingly abusing the water, that the pump recently had to be replaced at a cost of 2,000, and that they're looking into fracking the well at a cost of 7,000 bucks and hoping the government will cover 80% of the cost, and that one leak was found.

Well, it sounds as if they are on top of things. Is the new gas station/convenience store on your water system?

Too far away to be on ours - whether it's on another community system or has its own, I'm not sure. I know there's at least one other community well on our side of the harbor, and one in the neighborhood my project house is in. (Albeit I have/had my own well, but no water is hooked up right now there anyway). I'm not 100% sure about arrangements for the rest of the area.

Hey Wildwest. I see you have an 81 K5 Chevy Blazer...is that one the 305 V8.? I had an 82 and loved it for plowing snow and hauling my stuff around for hunting and fishing. Good engine, transmission and front end with solid front axel.

It was powerful enough for pushing snow with the 305, but not so much that I wrecked the front end, or anything else. It was reliable, more so than our 2004 Suburban.

For plowing I took out the clutch fan and put in a direct fan for cooling for driving on the highway with the plow up. I also swapped out the automatic hubs for manual to put into four wheel drive.

The only thing I didn't like was the back power window. It was always malfunctioning. Our salt roads would corrode the base where the glass was seated.

Well that was a great game, and we like the eagles due to the green bay/ Wisconsin ties. How that game ended is unbelievable, and we couldn't be happier.

Took down another Black Locus today. Got it limbed up and cut into logs the size I can handle. Skidded the logs up to my processing area. What a nasty son of a gun, but the burning will be well worth it. Should give me a day or so of rounds to split and stack.
Hopefully the bottom field dries up or freezes. It has standing water in it now. I have several Ash to take down.

Nice work man. Nothing as good for the mind and body than to get out side and do some physical work.

I do! And it was a 305 V8 til 2009. Last time instead of a rebuild we had a 350 put in. Love that darn truck!!, warm and reliable (except all the weather stripping is deteriorated and the wind comes through, but in good weather its awesome) and I've never been stranded. Ever. (with the exception of clutch going out a couple times). We repaired the auto hubs twice in the early 1990's, then had manuals installed. No power options on it, my tailgate window is crank. Second tailgate from a 76' or 78' IIRC, I used it for deliveries and wore the the poor latch out, that plus all the miles we put on it that rear crank window plus me opening and closing it 20 times per day for years. Dear husband had a 79' when we met, much boxier and square than mine sat higher and body in better shape sans paint, but we unfortunately sold that in our youth , and yes we repaired his rear power tailgate window a couple times.

I looked into a plow once we move to WY with the help of Hoarders here :), thanks guys!, turns out this was some kind of "special edition" year and a plow was 3x a normal year. It's ok, the chain thing the shift stick goes to (transmission/transfer case thingamajiger) is original and stretched so it's still my kick around and school bus pick up truck. We had dual exhaust-no cats last engine (350) so I get a kick out of the sound of engine too. Pallet Pete sent me a radio for it so I can listen to my favorite talk radio shows, still on dear husbands honey do list.......

Repaired it too many items over too many times over all these years but I'm very comfortable in it. Sadly the exterior is really taking a beating from the wind and sandblasting wind since we moved here, and the small rust spots are now big rust spots. But, the mechanics are sound and the doors aren't falling off yet:rofl:

Amen. Enjoyed every minute of it. Oh to be thirty again. I am always amazed how much some of these younger members get done in a day. I guess retirement makes you a little lazy. Don't have to get it done today there is always tomorrow.
