Okay, as long as all our pipes are clear we're happy! Right?

I still don't get the gist Bear, but agreed we all appreciate clean pipes, be it tailpipes or stove pipes or.... Is it the prime beast? No worries, I made chili again tonight as I have for 30 years, and we've never blew the house up

Maybe Steve can get you up to speed. Bear doesn't comment on tail pipe issues even when they exist.

    Well...

The weather dudes forecast a pretty good wind event for last night... and it arrived, and by 9:30 pm things were ripping pretty good.

I went down and moved the Avalanche to a spot away from flying tree parts...

Power never blinked, so things were pretty much just fine all night.

Likely need to clean up around the house some as soon as the weather permits.

Did a deep clean on the Big Whit yesterday including the LBT so the stove was in top form.

The shells produce a lot of ash compared to pellets, so cleaning is a weekly thing on the Big"un and about every 3 days on Weeee stove.

I need a stove with a 5 gallon ash pan....

Was extremely careful and used Math and Physics to get it on the homemade dolly. A ton of work to get the sucker out of the house safely but had my neighbor help me roll it out down the ramp and in front of the garage. The fricking door itself must have weighed 70-80 lbs alone and then all the firebrick it is heavy but was not going to take all the fire brick out just planned it out and executed !

    I spoke too soon..

We were just sitting here feeling all smug about not losing power and it went off.
    Ahhhhh well.

There was a power line down on the way to town and a crew just getting there.
Power Co had shut the entire area off in order to service the issue..

Went to town, had Bfst, did some shopping, then came back up to the ranch... NO workers and no power either ????

We went on a drive to see if there were any other areas with stuff damaged.... nope.

Went to town to get a couple items we forgot earlier..

Headed back up and noticed a house with a porch light on.... yeah buddy...power back up.
The fuel tank for our 20 KW diesel gen set has had a small leak that's not fixable so we have not had it available.

Gonna get an aluminum big truck tank and replace that old steel one.

Gotta get that gen set back available.

20 kw can handle most household stuff.

    Stoves, lights.

Not sure about water heaters and cook stoves, but having heat and water will make the interim wait time for repairs far less tedious.

We bought the big gen set as Y2K approached and have used it once before the tank took the dump.

Thing likely has less than 5 hours on it.

4 cyl Kubota with the 20 kw gen set
