It appears on the newer ones, like yours, you remove the top plate, page 35,and brush the ash down, then clean up the ash at the bottom covers.A much smarter design, and no reason to remove the big heat ex changer side panels.

Thanks for looking out for me Bob :)

Glad I'm not missing a major maintenance step.

He's got his fake Teva sandels on as we speak (they grip the metal roof best) and getting the soot eater & drill assembled. We'll see what comes out, leaning towards this fall's LBT was never actually done :sherlock:

X1Billion JT hope it is / was a good one man , sucks that you cannot be out fishing but heh guess you could if you headed up North to where the ice is covering.

Spent a few hours getting the BEAST and it is one heavy mofoing beast, the Alpiner I am speaking of onto a homemade dolly. Now building a ramp to get it down to ground level (outside)to get rid of it once and for all. As much as I hate loosing this sucker I need it out of my house and I taint shirting you the thing must weigh 800 lbs. Some call them smoke dragons well this thing was a Fire Breathing Dragon and heated the leaky old farmhouse.
Gonna get it out and post one more time to see if anyone wants a shop heater as it really cranks out some serious heat but if not Ill just put it on Crackslist to get rid of her.

    Hope all are well !

Results of the soot eater is about 1-2 cups, more than I've seen before (granted it's 21'). That'll learn us good on either forgetting lbt and maintenance or letting it slide. The main ash back up was the short internal horizontal pipe from exhaust blower to first couple inches of the up through the roof pipe. Ya. Schooled.

Since the last deep clean a day or so ago it's now burning better and making grey ashes again:)

Youngest son up north on Moosehead Lake fishing this weekend. A report I got from the oldest son claims they are hammering the brook trout, including one that was 6.5 lbs. Its a one fish limit up there so they are throwing back 20-22 in. brookies.

Wild West for a regular cleaning use a 1/4 stick for a deep cleaning a full stick and blasting cap is required.

Bear is running for the exit :faint:.

Sorry STB, forgive me, I don't get your joke. Dynamite? Blow the pipes out or a clog can blow our house up?
