GoT a big build up of coals?. Takes forever to burn them down for reload right? 3" elbow on the main intake hair dryer stuck in the end of that . scrape coals in front of dog house turn on hair dryer, instant blast furnace effect burning down coals. in about hour you can get a big reload in. I have tried pine compressed wood ect this is by far the fastest way for me and I get more heat out of the coals. You do want space the coals at least a couple inches away from the dog house and make a channel to the back through them.
same idea might work other stoves

Are you certain that the doghouse hole is the blast hole? Or is it the air wash from above? I was under the impression that the doghouse was fed by those holes under the stove up front.

Supercharging is cool if you don’t melt anything.

When I turn on the hair dryer there is a definite increase in the volume/ velocity from dog house. melt- that is why I said to leave a few inches of space in front of DG.

You are correct in your thought. The doghouse air comes from the two holes on the bottom corners on the stove. (Look underneath the stove chris )

The doghouse and secondary air are both unrestricted and not connected to the 3" primary inlet at all. They can draw as much air as they want unless you somehow restrict them.

Not saying this is a bad idea. But you must make sure your primary air is wide open. If its closed, you definitely will not get the results you want.

I have used the hair dryer to help reverse the draft of our flue. I take the OAK connection off, and let it run for about 5 minutes until its reversed.
