Got some work in the wood lot today got some skids moving all my stacks on to the skids. EventulaEv going to build a lil roof on them.
Thanks. Just lil something im throwing together for the rest winter. This summer I have plans to build a better set up. Don't have much space so I need to be able to maximize my space.
Thanks for sharing. Good work. I’m in the process of figuring where to store more farwood. Changing from utilizing a large commercial yard that a friend and I were able to store wood at because friends brother took a few cords last year.... I’ve got a good size lot for in town but it’s all fenced in and manicured. I think I can squeeze two or three rows deep along my 40’ deep barn/garage. Good thing is that is on the south side so should get good sun. Bad is the rain off the roof would come down on the wood. Your little racks with potential roofs are a good idea. Looks like that will dry nicely. Keeping it off the ground is key. Top covered helps as well but it will be fine the way it is for now. Over the years I have changed my setup here and there to what works best for me as I'm sure a lot of us have.
Nice work, Stoveburner38 ! Could i make a suggestion. Stack all the splits at the outside edge of the skid and fill in between with the shorts and unstackables you'll fit more wood in and it will be more stable
Turbo Diesel makes a good suggestion. Not only for stability, but if you're like me and get annoyed easily of seeing those ugly or especially short splits on your stacks, throwing them in the middle is the perfect solution to not see them again until the time comes to burn.
It's easy when it's stacked. Just take measurements, and put them in the cord calculator. Do that for each stack.
