I do have to bring some wood to the porch today. Will get tractor out after I'm done with the forum. Cloudy out there but not bad. Temperature is already dropping. Has dropped 4 degrees so far today. Winter returning even if for a short time.

Hey, how much snow did you get yesterday. Radar made it appear you were getting a goodly amount. We lost all of ours, but then, we didn't have much to lose either.

Happy New Year's, Hoarders. It has been a busy holiday or rather last couple of months for us. Today we were headed over to Mom's and found that it is a dangerous cargo run on the ferry so it will have to wait a couple of hours. Lets me get some FHC surfing in. The weather the last couple of days has been dry with sunshine. This morning, we started walking again (Jan. weight loss program) and it was overcast and windy. It might rain tomorrow. I have only 5 days left of my "Winter Break".

Kind of funny. Normally we are in bed on New Year's Eve by 10:00 PM. Last night it was 2:00 AM as our church had a midnight service of hope for 2019. We were quite surprised that we didn't see any road checks for drunk drivers. It seemed pretty quiet when we got back to the house.

New years visit with my aunt and uncle.....the oil shop next door and the gas station/dairy queen nearby look almost ready to open.... the house next door, well.....that looks somewhat terminal.

No more than 5-6 from yesterday through now. Shoveled three times; plow went by twice.

Did it start at midnight as that 2am is a LATE service. You would have had to poke me to keep me awake. :)

It was an early morning so I could get on the road to meet my youngest at the "lodge" so we could work on a project together.

My son bought an old Mazda pickup a while back with the idea that he and I could stuff the extra 5.0/302 I had into it.

He doesn't know a lot about engines so Dad is "educating" and at the same time working with him.

It finally got above zero but we pulled the parts into the back room of the house, threw down a drop cloth and had at it. Made for an easier day of disassembling the heads and working on the intake manifold.

We ended up cleaning and reorganizing the garage (both sorely needed) so he could leave the truck there for its path towards horsepower.

His girlfriend spent the day with us and we also ate lunch with my mother, his grandmother.

Exhausted but happy we got to spend the day together. A good start to the New Year!

    two possible reasons for that.

    1. They were in church also.

    2. The bars here stay open an extra 2 hours so it wasn't anywhere near time to go home yet.

    I'm thinking it's number two..............

Hovering around zero here too all day. -15* this morning :shiver:

Tried to snow last night but it was so cold it came down more like powdered sugar, though it did add up to an inch or two. Kiddo's off to a birthday slumber party, going to indulge in scary movies:dex:

I can't believe we made it til midnight last night, first time in a decade or more... House it a wreck, taking it easy today anyway.

    Hannibal is starting:salute:

Well, had plans to work in the house today...but when I got up this AM, things changed.
We had high winds last night and the electric wires out to the garage were down...the pole out behind the garage fell over because it was old and rotten. Actually, I think the guide wire broke and that's what finished it off. Pole smashed the gutter and dinged up the shingles on the garage a bit too.
Fortunately, a few years back when I added the wood shed on, and then put a new roof on the whole thing too, I had the forethought to put a new electric service entrance (mast) down through the roof...so all I had to do was undo the wires and move them to the new entrance...sounds simple enough, but it still took me the better part of the day to finish it up.

I was quickly scrolling through and this rolled by, my first thought was, That looks like Newfoundland. Stopped to read the text, sure enough. There's no mistaking the homeland :)

I like them too, well honestly that time period was a great Era for the big 3 period. The fords, dodges, and gms from then are all among my favorite trucks.

There's a farmer close to me still using a 1st Gen ram, I don't know how the truck hasn't broke in half yet but she hasn't.
