What is the difference in the Oregon Advance cut and Power cut chains? The chain on my new CS-590 is an Oregon chain. Dealer wants $32 for it in an Echo box, Lowe’s wants $32 in an Oregon box. Amazon wants $19-$20.....no brainer.
Oregon Products This page isn't the greatest, but it sort-of explains the various Oregon chains. Power Cut is their big saw pro chain, not considered an anti-kickback chain. Advance Cut isn't as aggressive, but is an anti-kickback chain. No chain is completely safe.
Lgx or lpx is what you want Jgx if you want skip tooth. Treestuff.com is pretty reasonable on chain price ETA. Stihl has some of the best chain but I can't get it from treestuff so I end up with Oregon for convenience
I’m a full line Oregon dealer if you need something give me a shout. I sell just over cost to keep my dealership status up. I got it mainly for personal use
Versa cut weighs half as much but doesn’t have a replaceable nose, it’s aluminum core. I’ve got quite a few of them out for firewood duty. They really like them and seem to be holding up well for that. They are a great affordable alternative to a sugi or Tsmura for a light weight bar
I misspoke, no 24” Versa cut option for Echo, I’m sorry. 24” powercut $47 24” LGX or dpx $15 24” EXL $16 $13 shipping A 20” versacut is $35
