Hello FHC, first post longtime reader.

    Need help with tree ID

I was thinking about going to get this wood while I’m off work this week. Wanted to make sure it was worth my time.

:D.... it’s good wood too. If I were a gambling man, I’d say Shag Bark hickory... but. I’ll let a “more” professional Id’r say for sure....

    Welcome to FHC:handshake:....

Welcome The Muzzy! I agree with the aforementioned shagbark and also that you'll wanna snatch as much of that up as you can.

Been my experience, Shagbark has a distinctive odor when split. So if looks like shagbark and it smells like shagbark. Seriously though nice score! My first post on any social media

Welcome The Muzzy and JoeinO - You’re gonna like it here, I guarantee it! We like dogs, beer and pics. We also like spending your money on accoutrements to assist with your addiction, er hoard. Lots of great folks here always eager to lend advice or a hand. Be it shagbark or white oak, let that 661 rip, despite the rain it seems we are all deluged with.
    Nice to meet you :handshake:

Standing next to shed looks like oak.

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to start posting.

Thinking about getting that. Is it worth your time? Well, does a bear... Is the Pope Catholic? Is snow white?

Difficult to tell with the pictures especially that one that was taken during warmer weather. Some look like white oak while others look like hickory. Probably some closer up pictures would help but you don't really need them. Just take that beautiful saw out and let it work!
