    Okay... gotta be fair.
Got on a live chat with Cabela's.. they told me to call customer service...
Long story short, the CS rep popped up the tracking page I was looking at,
and sort of laughed... told me that the hoodie was back ordered,
and also the Bass Pro Shop one was as well (they are both the same company now)..
She sent out one that was nearly double the price, express mail..
I asked "what "if" I get it. She said it doesn't appear that that will happen..
"IF" it did, just keep it.. Would cost too much to send it back..

I have NO issues with Cabela's, never have...
I got tons of shooting stuff from them when I was shooting
in a bulls eye pistol league, and other stuff as well.
The story was really about the shipping, not the store..

Cabella's is owned and run by Bass Pro.I was in Sydney,NE this summer, the fairly new multi-million dollar building is mostly empty. All the upper management people took transfers to other Bass Pro offices, the rest got laid off.It has really hurt a town of 8,000 people.

    All was well last night.

Crushing shells and life was good...

Finished what I was doing and decided to shut down, fill a couple 5 gallon buckets and then head to the barn to feed the horses..

I decided to leave the buckets inside the roll up door until I got back from the barn...

I yank the garage door and as the door starts to roll past the top curve...BANG and the door comes hurtling down at WARP SPEED....Real glad there are no windows in it...

The torsion spring had broken after 25 years....
I am outside, having narrowly escaped the guillotine of the runaway door....

Then I discover that I left my car keys in on the bench...

Sadly the only other entrance is through the downstairs apartment...

We take care of our clients Chihuahua's when she works late, so it's no biggy to have access.

Butttttttttttt... the rear area of the basement is not a common area so she has no key to that door..

Now there is the issue of her china hutch that is in front of the door.... ARRRRRRRGH

Carefully move the hutch... open the door then struggle with some heavy stuff in the road.

Get back into the basement and assess the situation.

Get the tools and rip the torsion shaft, cable drums, and that stuff off the header.

    Yup...the spring is toast.

Look on line and it's a standard single spring unit... .207 wire diameter, 2 inch center diameter...24 inches long..

Soooooooooooooo, decide to call the local overhead door supply house in the morning...

I call them and get told "WE have the spring in stock" BUT "WE can't sell it to you"

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat... seems I need to be licensed to buy the spring... I can buy everything else including the door, but not the springs.
They want me to schedule a service call...$49.95
    New spring assembly $99.95
Labor $75.00 and possibly other items if the tech deems it so...

I told the wench on the phone what I thought of the entire idea. :hair:

I installed the door in the basement back in 1994 and do not need any help or need to get ripped off..

CALLED a local mom and pop shop here in town (6 miles) and within 30 minutes we are at his shop and he hands me a new spring... $50 (With the cones attached)

Less than an hour later the door is happily running up and down again....

The tough part is winding the spring...

I happen to have the winding bars that I made back in 1994 still in the tool box.

Good as new,... except my attitude..

I do not like rip offs...

Been there, done that.A few years ago, power company cut my propane line, while they were moving my transformer.Propane company would not sell me the repair connector, even though they did before, when I hit it with post hole digger. They quoted "new regulations"! Mail ordered one (that is still legal) fixed it 3 days later.Forced me to BBQ for 3 days, lol.

Hmm, seems to me the power company should have been the ones to arrange repair if they are the ones that cut it.

On my way home from the dump this evening, I got a call from the power company saying they were cutting power in my area and expected it to be out for up to 2 hours. I was only a couple of blocks from home so had time to get a couple of candles lit, find my camping lantern, check the pellet stoves (which were both powering down anyway) and feed the cats. Then out went the lights.

Grabbed my kindle and started reading then started smelling smoke. Well, that isn't right since both stoves are on UPS' that allow them to pulse the exhaust fans just so smoke doesn't escape. I knew the P43 was pulsing and heard the UPS downstairs beeping (as it should). Went downstairs and realized the P61a wasn't pulsing. Seems I plugged the stove into the wrong receptacle in the UPS when I moved the stove a couple of months ago. Some of the receptacles are powered by the UPS, some are not. I knew this and knew I should be putting it on the Master port, but apparently didn't pay attention when I plugged it in. Well, it is plugged in correctly now. And at least I was home so was able to correct the situation before there was too much smoke in the house.

Eversource was wildly off in their estimate of time the power would be out - it was only 15-20 minutes .

Then you really do have an issue with Cabella.
