    Merry Christmas all!
I have been cutting from dead fallen trees and gathered them in our backyard.
How much do you think I have? Half cord , quarter cord? Or even less or more? I tried to cut them 16 inch long that is ideal for our BK Ashford 25 insert.

    Probably about a 1/3 off a cord.

What kind of wood is that? It looks solid, kinda like elm.

What #Horken said. I was thinking little less than 1/2 cord. It’s hard to tell when it’s not split and stacked. Looks like some nice clean dry rounds either way.

Get out there and split and stack and we will know for sure!

I agree with between 1/3 and 1/2 cord.

I'm in at a bit shy of 1/3 cord.

Looking like a face cord at most...sounds like pretty good wood however.

Split and stacked about a face cord. Black Locust is good stuff.

Great wood, especially with no bark.

Why guess? Stack those rounds up and measure.

Premium stuff there, hard on the chain though....as I bet you can tell. Guessing 1/3 of a cord as best I can tell. Drop it off at my house and I can split/stack to give you a solid answer and to convert it into ash. :dex:

Let us know how that electric logsplitter works. It looks like it hasn't even been unpacked yet. Merry Christmas!

I have an electric. It is pretty good. Splits nearly anything... I have had stuff as big as 18inch dia. On the beam. It want split 18 right down the middle (except oak.. Which splits like butter) you have to pick your way around the log. I have not had to pull the gasser from storage in 4 years now. Quiet, cheap to run, simple to store. Only complaint is that the screws for legs and wings could use some lockwashers

I'm in agreement with the 1/3 - 1/2 cord camp.....

What species of wood is your stash?
