Nice looking wood! Makes my back hurt just looking at it! Looks like a sharp chain based on the chips...

Yep, some maples they took down about two blocks from me, but I had to go drag it out of the tree dump (literally).

Come on Dave, you've just got to trust me. There is still more out there but this is all my muscles would allow. It was some serious wrestling.

Pic #6 looks like you cut from the top down, Instead of starting on the bark side, why?

Two reasons: the ones I tried on their sides wanted to tip. Also, it was heavy.

There is some footage of Henry (the truck) dragging these things out of the pile. That will surface eventually.
Yep, but this stuff being six blocks with my wood pile makes it hard to turn down, even if it takes a fair amount of work. I guess I just take after my grandpa-- he would cut two big ones, have a truck full and tell his cutting buddies (my dad and uncle) so long suckers!

Get yourself a pickaroon. You and the old lady will be much happier jockeying those big things about with one. They also make it real easy to flip those larger rounds onto their edge.

It's on the list. We forgot to grab the log jack, but I think this stuff would have been a little big for it anyway. Plan on fishing some of the "smaller" stuff out of the bush with the timber tongs, but I think we are taking tonight off. We have help scheduled for Thursday.
