    OMG Yesssssssssssssssssssssss it would.

I think the 3/8" shaft on the rollers might not like all that torque.

I would love to build a roll setup with 12 inch wide 8 inch diameter heavily knurled rolls with 1-1/2" shaft mounted on good heavy pillow block bearings.

A 40 pound capacity hopper to top it off.

Now the little 6.5 horse unit would be a real plus on that setup....

We want to run this in the basement, so the gasser is probably not a good idea :(

Good stuff and I am beside myself as he has not made it out yet. He is the #1 guy but he never misses the team meetings well except this week. I called him and to his credit regardless of how busy he always answers his phone when I call.

He asked what’s up ? Told him I needed to see him and he asked again what’s up ? Told him I was making a career change *silence* then oh Fluck I’ll see you tomorrow(today) but he did not make it. So I texted him and his day is even busier tomorrow so he could not make it to the job. *sigh*
So he arranged that I head to the main office tomorrow which I wanted avoid because I know what is going to happen the owner will be there... which means I will be double teamed if not triple if the other owner decides to join. But then again I may be totally wrong but doubt it as this is the most important job for the owner and its in serious trouble.

I have to hold my guns for my family, myself , my furry babies and heck Pellets ! the wonderful increase in salary will allow me to feed my pellet obsession even more !
Most important is eventually I will have more quality time to spend with my honey and start working on my broken house again, realized that since I joined this company 7 years ago I have not done jack chit to fix my house always to busy with work and to damm tired now that I am an old fogie. The owners of the new company know how important this is to me and they exercise this practice themselves as they are both much more relaxed then when we all worked together on a huge $850 million dollar project. Their lives have changed and I am ready to follow down that path.

Will have a challenging year with the job they just got as its near impossible but they took it because the owner who has been giving them a lot of great small jobs asked them to bid on it and well you have no choice. This was the job I took a day off from my present employer to sit with a team of 8 folks to be interviewed by the company a big Pharma company and we got the job.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes as stated before this is a first and I can't get over it bothering me as that is how I am built. I have said it before, some really great people here !
    Thanks

Will check in when it happens

If being double teamed, pretend they are a car salesman, his manager and the finance guy trying to get you to buy a car that you don't want, at finance rates that are way too high - you can walk away any time because you don't need anything from them now. After all, you already have a nice shiny new "car".

Some employers will make promises and offer more money in an attempt to get the departing employee to stay. It can be a difficult situation to deal with. It sounds like deep down, Luney already knows the path that must be taken, regardless of any enticements that may be offered.

Often times more $$ does not make that old job any better. All the problems will still be there and then some IMHO. ;)

Agreed....from what I've read on his posts, he needs to cut the cord and move on, regardless of their possible $$ promises

Anxiety sucks and seems to always find a way into ones psyche when it comes to doing something one has never done before. The last few weeks have been painfully anxious but I did hold my guns and thank God the Owners were not there just the number one guy who was extremely honorable and respectful. It was a good meeting I surprisingly handled myself really well and it became an good conversation and the anxiety eventually eroded away followed by a meaningful conversation.

He was terribly disappointed but actually could not match my current offer. He even shared that when I was away for my surgery for 7-8 weeks the team dynamics went to chit and added he was upset this would certainly happen again once I was gone. That was actually rewarding to hear and it was certainly rewarding coming from a man who is one of the smartest men I have ever met.

He also added that he would be appreciative if I were to give an exit meeting to help improve the company even after conversing with me for quite some time about what is wrong at the Harvard job. He also said that he took it as he has failed by me leaving and wanted to know what he could have done. He did put a lot of pressure on me to stay until May (completion date for the job) but I said I have to for the first time do what I have not done in 39 years and put myself and family first above my company. He said as upset and disappointed as he was he understood this. He added that if I in a few days felt that I had changed my mind to call him immediately along with in whatever time period had passed if I felt I was not happy at my new employer he said I hope you will call me. He also added that he appreciated that I come in person to talk to him.

So all in all a great meeting and I have to bear down to hand off my responsibilities and work my arse off to get it done. I spoke to my new employer and he let me know he went out and bought a brand new truck for me and badbob yes it is a Ford !

Thanks to everyone for your support, this is kind of crazy but actually makes sense as I am a homebody and would rather not socialize with anyone outside of my family so here I am sharing with what is an amazing assembled bunch of people maybe as mental as I am

Thanks again and hope all are well

    Daniel

    Good news.

The shell grinder works pretty good...just not real fast.

Call the plant manager this morning and told him of the debacle, and he messaged me back that their original waste grinder gave up shortly after they installed it in the new line... Sadly they are not sure when they will get time to get/build another one.

OK..so we are stuck with half shells to grind....

An hour later he text me and says he has their old nut cracker machine and it will adjust down far enough to make quick work of the half shells.

And he is willing to let me store it at my house SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET...

120 volt single phase too..

I ran our little crusher for a while and munched up about 1/3 of a barrel of ready to burn materials this morning.

I don't want to use up our BACKUP STASH :yes:of 16 barrels or so.

We get the machine tomorrow morning at 10:30.

I hope it will not take long to get it running..

But long term loan is a sweeeeeet deal.

Here is piccy of our creation..
