Just curious who makes these pellets for Tractor Supply. I primarily burn Lignetics, but saw them out so I decided to try a bag! Why they seem to burn ok, the dust is ridiculous, I would not buy a ton, unless there was nothing else available, unless I had a good dust mask! Also anyone heard of American Hardwood, local garden center carries them? Here is pics for the tractor supply bag with UPC code!
That’s interesting I love burning lignectics, very little dust and fines, and they burn hot! I wonder why there would be such a difference then in fines and dust!
Which would explain the "dust is ridiculous" comment. Those few bags of Ligs I got in that mixed ton are insanely dusty too.
I have burned the green label lignetics for years and love them, are those the ones you had a negative experience with! The TSC throw good heat, and if they control the dust they would be a good pellet. I use to be able to get sets, but they want 280.00 a ton here now, which I do not want pay! I do not have a ton of pellet options at a decent price here. I still can get my lignetics for 250.00 a ton !
I burn these pellets all the time and really like them, but yes they are pretty dusty. Doesn't affect anything for me really and I've been burning these for a few years. I tried the stove chow from HD and had a bad experience with the 10 bags I bought. No dust but full of sticks and twigs, I would rather the dust. I really haven't had any pellets that didn't burn well in the P61A, it burns everything well.
I got some local Hay Creeks early this year that had gotten wet... I left 8 bags in my pickup bed and it rained... thought it was my fault but the bags I stored inside were the same...some better than others. I was surprised when my dealer said no one else had complained about any problems. My Englander didnt like those pellets much but my St Croix ate them up without any issues. The last batch I bought were fine...
Stopped at TSC yesterday on the way home. No stacks in the lot............ Asked the clerk and she said some time next week they have a couple of loads coming in.
I called the tractor supply in Lake Katrine ny the other day to see what they had and the guy told me sometime next week they are supposed to get tsc brand softwoods. He said they never get them but for some reason they are. If it wasn’t an hour drive for me I would stop by and try them. I actually just scored lignetics green supreme Appalachian hardwoods from Home Depot in East Greenbush ny for $219 a ton. They burn very nice. I think they have less ash then the blazers that are supposed to be so good and seem to put out less ash.
The Tractor Supply we have out near us often sells pellets much higher in price for same brands than elsewhere... so I never go there.
