Lucky for me, yesterday was my last Friday of 2018. I have to work mon-thur next week, and Thursday is our departmental Christmas lunch at a local italian place, so thursdTh will be abbreviated. I then just have to work the day after Christmas and that's it until January 2nd. The 26th could be dead quiet, or insane since l will be the only person in Purchasing.

I plan on doing some cutting and splitting during my time off. I might even do some hauling too, even though that's easier when there's snow.

I don't even want to know what the RH is in my house. I'll need to change that.

You must be a mind reader, Gas. I slept until 9 this morning and still felt wiped out. Figured I’d better start the steroids, so I did. I don’t want to chance this getting worse before it gets better.

Thanks, Dave. I think there are a lot of us that don’t like taking meds. Because of all the health issues I’ve accumulated over the years it seems I’m a prisoner of meds. I hate adding anything to what I need to take, plus the side effects are enough to make certain meds a last resort solution.

    Happy birthday wildwest!

We went to my wifes christmas party last night in an upscale town. It happened to be an open shopping night with vendors spilled out on the sidewalks. We had quite a walk to get to the restaurant since there was no parking. Almost in another zip code.

I did some outside painting today in a t shirt, and cleaned up around the house. I took a pile of chunks of red cedar, sugar maple and pear that were going to be for wood working projects and cut them up. The sugar maple was spalted, but past its usable condition.

Red cedar looks great, but it is very hard on sawblades. The Fiskars did not mind though.

Got up and watched The Outlaw Josey Wales. I went to the Wal-Mart got oil,oil filter, and finally a fishing licence. Came home changed oil and filter. Then finally put up outside Christmas lights. Now I'm thinking lunch and a beer or 2.

Yea but what do they cost? If there like $2700 but last 20 to 25 years, it's still better talking current dollars to spend $500 hoping they last 10 years.

No one fixes appliances hardly anymore. The house call and labor hours rarely makes it worthwhile on something a few years old. I have had success fixing everything from dish washers, washing machines, dryers, and fridges with the help of the Internet. Most parts are relitively cheap and when done yourself make sense. If I was ping someone, I would have not fixed probably over half the stuff. Just got a new one or lived with the ailment.

Your cedar seems to be a darker more vibrant purpley color than what I remember ours to me. More solid on that one with less inclusion of the light colors.
I wonder if it's harder on them cause it always has such a low moisture content?
