A bit nippy overnight. Funny that our forecast was for mostly sunny for about 5 days in a row. After yesterday's weak sunshine, they've changed their minds and now mostly cloudy is forecast. They are right on so far...

Hi all. Yesterday I took off and today is a busy one. Been in the shop burning ash and getting ready for a big job. Need to take the car in for new tires and hopefully a inspection sticker and then stop at tractor supply for some new fire brick for my furnace. I just choked down a jimmy dean and Im back out the door. Hope you all have a great day.

Wow, hight of 30f and your house will hold the 73f temp or whatever you said all day!! At those temps I would have to have a full load of oak loaded rolling half way in the stove to keep warm.

But it's way easier and cheaper for me to keep cutting and feeding this stove wood than to try and insulate an almost 70 year old house with partiAl insulation.

If it is sunny and 30 with minimal wind my house doesn't need any heat to hold temperature.

20’s tonight.. mid 30’s today but really gray and gloomy. The storm is dropping snow literally 10miles south of us but dry here.

The evening was cherry uglies, once it coaled down i loaded up more of the 3-4yr red oak. Its jammed in there with minimal air gaps tonight. 74* down stairs where our bedroom is and ima guess 78* upstairs where my office is lol. I went outside in my gym shorts n crocs only to cool off a minute lol...

Looks like a nice burning week for us ahead then a big warm up.

17 feels like 10, high around freezing today with wind, so chill factors around 20. I just opened up the draft to burn down the remaining oak from last night. 75 IAT 68 upstairs, just right. Gotta warm it up some though, Mrs Mainah is working in the home office today and she likes 80. And I’m actually getting used to it. Must be these old bones.
We’re in the longest dry streak since late August and it’s due to continue until the rain coming this weekend maybe. Either rain or snow is fine, just no more ice! What snow we have left now is rock hard and slick as can be,

Our temps and forecast are the same. Bright sunshine should make a few hours working outside tolerable. I've been burning a mix of red maple, black locust, and hawthorn. I'm going to bring in some elm today.
