The rubber roof has finally been applied. As part of the installation the roofer put down a layer of insulation. Not something I requested. Just part of the usual install.

Prior to the install of the new roof, the electric heater in our bedroom would keep the bedroom at 58 on a night/day of 32 and below. After the completion of the new roof this whole week where temps went down into the 20's and highs in the low 30's our room remained at a constant 66-68 degrees. This is without putting any insulation between the exposed beams in the room.

Completing the room alone is going to same me money on heating and cooling the room. Now that is done, I'll be contacting RISE to come and do an analysis of our bedroom. RISE will pay up to $4000 towards insulation and offers 0% loans up to $25000 up to 10 years for replacing inefficient heating/cooling solutions. Hopefully by summer I have a mini-split in our master bedroom replacing the current inefficient box quartz heater.
