It was a long busy week for me, I'm quite happy to sit on the couch and tend to the fire.

My wife doesn't tend to the stove much, so I assumed it was operator issues when the house was cold while I was away. Nope, realized yesterday morning my cat needed a cleaning when it was in operating range when i left, with smoke coming out the chimney.

Gonna finish up the outside lights today and I also found out that the area where my cottage is (7 mi away) got a dump of 18" on Thu!

So, it looks like I'll be taking a skip down there to snowblow the drive ponce again. I have yet to get the wrangler that I store in one open spot......the guy would leave it outside all winter at his place; it has a soft top on it and I offered him to store it at my place since I had an open spot. Been trying to get him to bring it down there since Oct...................

Then, probably grab a small spruce for the yard on the way home.

Almost forgot.....finish painting the floor in the workshop too!

That strange looking bright light is in the sky again and we can see it! Supposed to be like this for several days and we love it.

It was mostly sunny yesterday, and not today zero clouds. That's also why it was really cold the last 2 nights. Lows around 12-13 degrees. I show 27° already here, mostly because of the sun and there's much less wind than the other day.

I need to load up the inside firewood supply, and also re cut a few pieces that are a tad too long. I guess I didn't pay as much attention to the length of the rounds I was cutting 2 Winters ago. Oh well.

Nice looking work. You did a great job making the to fit around the window. I don't paint very much so Im wondering if the first coat of paint was white.

I was able to make some great progress outside today and yesterday. :saw: And then the :tractor:. The M59 is a real nice work horse. I still haven’t put the new chains on the tires yet. I need to do that tomorrow. But the area I wanted thinned out of rocks, junk trees, and brush is almost done. Probably at 90% done now. Next comes a lot of hand work getting the stuff out from between tight spots and thrown into piles for the big grapple. Then to get things York raked off if I can before anymore snow comes. Maybe I’ll just carefully back drag things out into piles with the grapple. It works pretty well as a Rake. I have had to use the backhoe to dig four large holes and pull some big rocks down into them and get them buried and out of the way. Only one more medium size rock and some stumps to go. The backhoe has been doing a fine job. Takes a while to get the hydraulic fluid warmed up though when it’s 10 degrees. o_O

My son earned his black belt tonight after 2 years of solid dedication to classes. It was a very big moment for him. He had some struggles but made it through. I had no doubt that he could do it. He had to find his way to make it happen. We had a family dinner at the local bbq restaurant.

I used milk paint. First coat was light gray...then poly...then dark gray...then sand to distress and expose the base coat in some places....then final coat of poly. Lots of work...wife did most of it.
