Going to 18 F tonight- the coldest temps. so far this year. Burning oak and a fair amount of it as the house is still not buttoned up and closed, especially between floors. They can probably spot my house from the Space Station on a thermal imaging screen..... We are in for a week of ~20 F and a little bit lower temps.... summer is almost over. Brian
We had -6 with a feel of -16 this morning. And let me tell you, it felt more like -25!! I'm going to have to wear gloves while pumping gas from now on!!!
I am thankful of our freedom that our fathers and grandfathers defended. Today is the 77th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.
Not many remember Pearl Harbor Day anymore. Those that forget their history....... 21F & dropping to low teens at least, maybe single digits by morning. Good load of Oak in the boiler.
18 here 72 IST Ash,Black Locust. Most of the younger people i work with had no idea what happened today in 1941.
It was 23f two mornings ago. 32f this morning and will be a bit warmer tomorrow. The cold front will set in this weekend with rain and snow for the upper part of state.
Dang...just checked the forecast and we're supposed to get down to 14....thought for sure I read something in the 20s. Baseboards are calling for a lot of heat already.
32° here, a lot of the snow in the high country melted today with the rain coming out of the southwest. Getting the stove up to temp with a few splits of cherry then it's time to choke it down and go to bed.
12 OAT feels like 5 at 6 this morning. 75 IAT still burning down coals from the 8 pm load of KD and beech. Chill factor in the teens at best today with a cold week coming up. They’re predicting a warmup into the 40’s next Friday in anticipation of a rain event over next weekend. If it holds that should take the rest of the snow. Might be a year with a white Thanksgiving but a green Christmas. I’m ok with that, I’d like a nice warm stretch. Just no more ice!
I'm all for sneaking thru December with the precip events as rain. Makes January and February seem a little shorter.
19* F here this morning for the last day of rifle (deer) season. Loaded up with ash this morning. Gonna see if I cant fill the tags
20* here in York co. White oak in the stove. Good luck Marvin. Taking a walk here in a few to see if i can kick something up for my one buddy.
