Warmed up to 17 and still snowed all day. I shoveled twice so far with a third one scheduled for after dark. Its supposed to clear up then and it'll be a cold night!
Its a worm 29 right now. Started work at 3am (couldn't sleep). Made some finished wood samples for a job I hope to start next week. Burned some ash in my reinstalled hot blast and worked on old plow truck again. I sure been hoping to start getting ahead of the firewood this spring. Been enjoying seeing all the firewood here.
24 here, hard maple in the stove. Lows in the 20s for a couple days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
22F clear & no wind! I'm getting used to this weather. Oak & Maple in the boiler. 20's & Sunny for the weekend, that means!!!!!!!!
Sat., Sun., and Monday all look like some sun for us. It got very slightly sunny today for a short time. Almost forgot what that looks like. Might do some firewood too.
High 30s out, burning elm, sweet gum, not really sure. Something so stringy and hard to split that I cut it to 8 inches before beating hell out of it with my maul and/or sledge and wedge a couple of years ago. It's dry, it burns, I'm happy.
-17c/1f and burning larch at the moment. I was in and out of the house today but was able to load the stove with Lodgepole pine when needed and when I would pop back home I would have a nice bed of coals to do a quick reload. Lodge pole normally gets me about 6 hour burn times.
It's 12° now. Burning gooder stuff like sugar maple, and honey locust. I when plugged in the semi noisy blower on the insert. I haven't needed to run that for a while, but now, yeah. It's not quite as loud as it could be, but it's also not spinning as fast as it should either. It will be replaced soon
30° now, no wind yet but it's supposed to pick up this afternoon. I'll burn as many of the awkward chunks of red maple in the wood ring as I can, and reload with some black locust. Saturday will be a cold one.
18 here. Haven't ventured out to the boiler yet...but it's idle and the water temp is 168 so I know it isn't hungry yet.
-21 right now. Burning lodgepole. I've got a small foundation to put up, but going to push back my start time until 1000. Burr
-17c/1.5f under semi clear skies. I just loaded the stove with lodgepole pine onto a good bed of coals. The stove should be pumping out some good heat in no time!
19 and dropping but at least some sun today. 10mph be breeze, might go negative this weekend. Burning ASH and STT is about 600..
17F this morning with dusting of snow. Topped out at 27F cloudy/windy. Fed mix of odd chunks to stove all day.
