Me too. NH has had sun for the last 3 days, or so they tell me (prior was all cloudy and dark for like 2 months). Naturally I am in training all week in a room with no windows. Lunches are working lunches (catered in) and breaks are just long enough to make a dash for the facilities and get a quick drink (wish it was a drink of vodka :coldone:). Of course tomorrow the class is over about 1 - guessing the cloud cover will start about noon - just because that is my luck.

Training at the job you'll be leaving? That must feel like an existential crisis...

Well, it is at (and thru) the company I will be going to, so they are thrilled that I won't have to go thru it in the future ;)

This is the 2nd year I've done this. It is tough as I have a hard time seeing the elderly in the last stages of their life. I begin to wonder just where there family is and why they aren't (or can't be) visiting with them. IMO, this is the tail end of the greatest generation of people of our nation. Some are still able to appreciate what is going on, others are just there.

Last year, I stayed for over an hour (as santa) at each home and was pretty much drained with the range of emotions I experienced afterwards. This year, I asked to be cut down to about 1/2 time and was accommodated by the group.

When I walk into the room, (here comes santa claus being sung) I walk through the audience and shake hands and lightly touch those who can't respond wishing Merry Christmas. Those that are able light up for a short time....

It's not much and it is totally out of character for me to do something like this, but I gotta do something.

Dave, such a very noble act on your part. It shows the true meaning of Christmas especially to this group. Your comment on them being part of the greatest generation is dead bang on, much like the tributes paid to "41" the last two days. Christmas is going to be just a little more special for you. Well Done !!!!!!!!!!

Our new governor wants to reduce the amount of people in jail. I've got an easy solution to that problem. I'm sure if I had enough hardship in affording ammo that my FHC family would help me out with that issue.;)
