Hey there, New here, I just picked up a black diamond 25 ton splitter this week. It kinda sounds like it’s got a wine when moving forward. The automatic return also does not like to stay in place. Anyone have any experience with this? I have a video of this but I can’t figure out how to upload it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes the oil is good. Due to the automatic return not working I believe it is the control valve that is actually at fault. The company is sending me a new one so we shall see how that works. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mine is for sale, its nearly flawless. This is the 2nd black diamond i have owned. The first one was fantastic to me. I split a bunch and i mean a bunch of wood with it. This one has been great so far but ive only ran it for about 2 hours. It has a few differences when compared to my older one i had. Very little run time.
It seems to split nice, I just expected the return valve to work since it was the day I bought it. I’m not sure I understand the popcorn though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's what many of us here post when 'waiting for' or 'watching for' something like pictures or other folks replies to a thread. No disrespect intended.
Ahh ok that makes sense. Forgive me if I sounded like I took it the wrong way. I’ll let everyone know how the new valve works when it comes in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
One way to share a video is to upload it to your youtube account and then link here via its youtube URL. popcorn can also serve as a placeholder
My Troy Bilt was a very similar set up. The return was a bit "soft" & often wouldn't work till the oil was warm. The cold oil caused just enough resistance on the backstroke to kick it off. Welcome & hopefully the new valve does the trick.
Well I put the new valve and something is still kicking the automatic return off. I’ve went through and tightened every hose with no luck. Anyone have any other thoughts? Could the hydraulic oil be to heavy and provide enough pressure to kick it off? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well just to give an update on the Black Diamond... It is no longer with me. I had replaced the control valve with the new one they sent me, the rod actually rattled around enough to break and I had hydraulic oil spewing out of the control valve. I've since returned the whole spitter and went with a Countyline. That thing is fast. I think I may have just had a lemon.
Ahh this one was extra slow with a louder than normal wine... kinda felt like it wasn’t getting enough flow from the pump... who knows what happened when they put it together... it’s out of my hands now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
