I think that the extra money you pay for a well know brand tractor (Kubota, New Holland and John Deere) will pay off in the end when you sell them. I like Kubota because they actually build their own with their engine. Not many companies do that.

Some of them are o.k., hit-or-miss. They build the engines and put them in bodies from Korea or Japan. Some of their Mitsubishi-based tractors are quite nice, but they cost about the same as JD and Kubota.

I'd be a little careful with the New Holland Compact/Subcompacts. Their bigger tractors are nice though.

That’s right! My brother was a New Holland mechanic for 30 years. Several years ago they switched companies that build them. The old company (shabiro) made great tractors. They had a lot of problems with the new company. I have a New Holland T1520 made by Shabiro and it’s been excellent.

    Holy chit, no heated seat?

Curious on height of something like that, I have an 8' high OHD in my garage. Would it fit?

I have owned many pieces of equipment over the years. And I work my equipment pretty hard. The 50 HP Mahindra that I owned had a lot of problems. I traded it in on a Kubota. No problems.

I went the other direction and bought a L2501 because I wanted something a little more stable with more pushing/pulling capability than a B series, and I wasn’t interested in bling. I bought my tractor to work, period. I have a little under 2 acres and I have no issues maneuvering around. It’s certainly larger than my JD X530 but I can still get the 64” snowblower in all the same places as the 47”, just with less passes. If you want a mid mount mower you need a B series or a Grand L though. No mid pto on the standard L. Everything else is beefier though, and the L2501 doesn’t have DPF, just like the B2650 or B2601.
If you don’t mind watching a few videos I would check out GP Outdoors on YouTube. He has an account here I believe as well. He has a B2601 and quite a few popular attachments and you can get a good idea of the capability of a small tractor.
The loader number on Kubota tells you what it’s designed to lift in kilos. LA 525 is 525 kilos, LA 534, LA 434, etc. Actual lifting capacity also has a lot to do with a properly ballasted tractor. Weight is your friend with a tractor when you’re doing heavy work and the more you plan to lift the more weight and larger frame size you want. Lifting it is one thing, moving it is something else entirely.
So what exactly do you want to do with your new tractor?

    Short list,
    1. Firewood Work, we have a 1/2 acre lot and get log loads delivered here. probably will want the 3rd function on the front hydros to run a grapple.
    2. Till Garden with rotary PTO tiller, My Husqvarna GT48xls with the tough torque ground engaging trans and locking diff is getting beat pretty hard when i pull the plow.
    3. Move stuff, i'm a contractor and it sure would be nice to have a tractor to easily move my trailers around, thinking a bucket mounted ball or a 3pt mounted ball.
    4. Snow removal. I have a friend in property management, we can basically underbid the rest of the competition that goes through his company but we need a skid steer or tractor for small lots and driveways...

As far as used goes, i'm seeing some stuff locally that would probably fit my budget and my needs, but the tires are industrials and i dont think i want that, im thinking turf or ag? Is there a market for used tires and are used tires available if i want to switch them out.
