It must be the perspective, the pipe is actually straight. It is a great advertisement for Woodstock, just like the Adirondack guide boat on display in the rest area just before Burlington on 89

We want the F-35, it's just the City of Burlington is a bunch of tree huggers.. I mean who buys a house next to an airport and then complains that the planes are loud:loco: ..

If I knew you were coming, I would have met you for coffee. Half an hour from my house tops. My IS is been on for 6 weeks:D

ahh, I didnt realize they were rebuilding the ramps. I heard about the vote to try and tell the military they didnt want the F-35, and then the .gov laughing and saying "sorry, thats not how it works"

They also were a little late to the game in the protest vote after senator depends and the commie, I mean Leahey and Sanders had already secured the funding for their state to get them

Someday I plan on retiring the big Fisher and upgrading to a IS, I believe it would shave a bit off the potential 6 cords a year habit this house has.

However I did get my new helmet, wrong logo on the front, but I can always get a sticker to fix that.
I've been using a cheap helmet for a while, I'm rather impressed with the design and quality.

I have put 3.75 cord threw IS and several owners asked me if I was sure of the numbers. I said yes, they were amazed. They were guessing most it would burn without dumping red hot coals was 3 cord. I start burning mid September or if I am cold!!

I believe that Backwoods Savage said that he went from around six cords down to three when he switched to his stove.

That would be really nice! We're closing in on the first cord burned , and we only burn if it's below 40

I used welding gloves for about 4 years. This year I got these from work, don't know the brand or cost as they give them to the calciner operators working around hot clay. They don't get hot at all.

I've used plain leather welding gloves for a while, they protect for a short time, then do a great job of prolonging the pain once the leather is hot.
These new ones have never gotten hot enough to hurt, even when grabbing burning logs, or when the coals are so hot it hurts my face to look in the door.
Sounds like what you found is something similar

A few more pictures from Boston, this huge tree is just outside of the Quincy Market.
20181124_151355.jpg the big tree and the regular trees are all wrapped with lights, each night they do a show every hour or so where they play the Boston Pops Christmas music and the lights are synchronized to the music.
Most years it has started the same night as the Tuba concert , this year it doesn't start until the following week :(

Since it wasn't too cold we took the kids over to the harbor since my sister's kids never really get to see Boston .
This stunning carousel is on the greenway , on top of the big dig tunnel.

We didn't go inside the Aquarium, but did enjoy seeing the harbor seals in the outside tank, we got there for a feeding and training session

I've been burning every day in my absolute steel since 10/21 when I filled this bin. Trying to only load it once a day weather (and degree of wife cold) dependant. I have enough left in it to load the stove one more time as of this AM. That's half a cord down.

So the power company tree crews came and took down the remaining big trees I had asked for, and I finally got to see how much wood my big mouth signed me up for.
    20181201_114352.jpg
    :eek:o_O:confused::hair::picard:
I think I bit off more than I can chew...

But these nice people made sure the tree crew kept it for me, so I'm gonna do my best to make it dissapear.

My son is proving to be a real help with the firewood business, he took over running the splitter while I ran the 590's.

    Then disaster struck... 20181201_123939.jpg

My DHT splitter pump started spewing hydraulic fluid!
I just bought it this year, so I hope DHT stands behind it.

So instead of bringing home nicely split wood ready to stack, I'm back to killing myself with trailer loads of rounds. :headbang:

This was the first load. One of the men from church showed up to help and we managed to get three loads today.

We actually got more done than I promised we would for the day.

The pile of rounds is for a friend of mine who also burns wood, but his saw is out of commission.

Looking good! Always nice to have help!

Sucks the splitter is down, but you'd think it would have a warranty!

Once more you rise to the occasion! We never know what we are capable of, until we put ourselves to the test. Way to go!

That's a 5 foot diameter tree at the bottom , luckily it's a double tree so that crotch will be easy to cut into two rounds.
Then I'll be quartering each of them in place.
That long straight trunk in front of the the crotch would make some nice boards, I would be happy to give it to someone who had a mill. The homeowners contacted someone who has a mill, but they said it was too big. It's only about 3 foot diameter.

We'll see, my splitter came with no instructions or paperwork except for the engine. The website was also no help as my splitter wasn't shown.
Now it is, but the website says I had to register for the warranty within 30 days.
Hydraulic components are only covered for one year , but I bought it in March (page 5 of this thread) so it is well within the warranty .
I just have to get the serial number of the splitter and engine.
Worse comes to worst , the pump isn't some Chinese brand I can't find anything about like the Delhi pump on the predator.

That big straight trunk will make some nice easy splitting firewood if you can't get it sawn into boards.
