It's 43 here now. But earlier this morning I loaded with some oak I cut years ago that was laying dead on ground (think red) and all that left was the heart or harder center. And then I think it was some white oak, it looked since it was kind of stringy. Loaded stove to about 80% capacity.

76 inside. Too warm for me.

Got most of the coals burned down and threw a few chunks of red elm in the boiler. Supposed to get cold starting tomorrow night.

32 here now with rain coming they say. It was supposed to warm up a lot and didn't get where they said it would be. It reached about 40. It is a break from what we had that's for sure. I had two nights that got down to 9* and a couple in the teens with a wind that was fearsome. We went through a lot of wood since Wednesday that's for sure, being it is only November. But I have plenty left.

40F here going down from here. Cold all week looks like and big snow possible tomorrow afternoon/night. Maybe a foot. Way too cold and snowy for November. :( Burning oak and boxelder with a little buckthorn.

Same forecast for us, just a few hours behind. Heaviest snow may go North of my area. I'm hoping the ground freezes back up, it's pretty soft now. A little Silver Maple in the boiler keeping things warm.

We are at 4* and supposed to be in the positives for a few days. Sure are saving wood in this heat. Have only used 3-4 cords so far. Things are looking good for savin wood.

Sitting at -12 C feels -16 C, or 11 F feels 3 F, and only supposed to drop a few more degrees tonight. Still haven't burned up the last few uglies but burning more decent wood instead. We just might make it to December without help from the oil furnace.

Freezing rain here this morning and 30 OAT. It hit 37 yesterday and I let the coals burn down and cleaned the cat and tightened up the bypass door a smidge. Pretty sure it was leaking by a little as loose as it was. Loaded up with KD oak and maple in a top down fire about 8 pm and it’s still at 350 STT with a great bed of coals 11 hours later and it’s 77 inside. Freezing rain and rain all day today then switching to 8” or more Monday night into Tuesday. I’d rather have all snow now. This freezing crap is for the birds.
    Stay safe out there!

37° and light rain, supposed to stop soon. Our snow is all melting. I feel bad for those up north with snow and ice on the way. I did a little outside yesterday, and filled the wood ring with red maple from the woodshed, almost too pretty to burn. Up till now I've just been scrounging the yard for burnable stuff.
