Yesterday's load. Today's load. For two days in a row, the Husky 570 has given me trouble. It warmed up and was cutting nicely. I idled the saw between cuts and it quit and would not restart. So yesterday and today the Stihl 170 did the bucking. Slow going in these size of rounds.
That’s buck that would take a while with the 170. I love mine for limbimg and trail work it’s a little light saber with a sharp chain.
I usually use the 170 for limbing, marking rounds to lenght, and cutting the stringy stuff that won't fall apart even though its split . In a pinch it saves going home empty .
A small saw is still a saw, it will get the job done. I bet you're glad you brought it campinspecter . Hope you get your 570 straightened out.
The 28" bar from the 570 fits the 390 , am a bit concerned about over revving the 390 with the shorter bar.
Hard to like that! Hope things are remedied quickly and cheaply. Or maybe a new saw??? That could be fun!
Hated to read that. How much does it usually cost to do a rebuild? Good that you have other saws to fill the void while you decide how to address the 570 issues.
Its going to cost about 60% of the cost of a new saw largely because I do not have the skills to do the repair myself and have to take it to a shop !
The 390 husky is only 6 months old so if the 570 is not rebuilt, I will just put the 28" bar on it and pack a longer bar and chain with me should I encounter some big logs.
Can't like your previous post about a rebuild! Fortunately you have other saws. I am sure though that an understanding Wif can see that you are handicapped without a larger (preferably new) saw. Working with the smaller saws will surely be harder on you physically and emotionally. (Am I helping?)
