    About 34f outside and have had very light snow showers all day long. Now inside is another story. Was starting to cool down in here and just below cat range. I threw in 3 good chunks to get it back in cat range and not heat us out. Since it wasn't a full box, Chaz has added a few more chunks and now it is 85 and he opened bedroom door to cool it down in here. We really don't know what we are burning as this is stuff that we bought from his bestfriend fil last spring when we were running out.

    Well still snowing. Looking at the radar it is sitting on top of us and not moving. Chaz is guessing about 3 inches so far and not letting up. Joy, joy fun, fun, not.

    +28°F . spitting rain. :eek::confused:
    It's good for not using much wood. But it Really sucks on the driving.
    I see several of you have colder temps than we do here. Burning some uglies, white spruce roots and some regular poplar. Need to get up and shovel off the roof and bank the cabin with the snow. Oh well. Next winter should be better.
    Hope everyone is doing well getting started on the winter of 18/19.
    Think of it this way. California is burning up. So , if your not , you have something to be thankful for.

    Update: Been gone all weekend. 28F & clearing. Oak in the boiler. Lady that passed in the accident was not known to me. 77 years old, lost control in the snow & slid sideways into an oncoming SUV. Direct hit to the driver door. Died instantly at least, but still very sad. As someone said a page back, there will be an empty place at Holiday dinners in a home forevermore. Praying for a family I may not know, but the Almighty does.

    31° as of half hour ago and steady light rain. Slick as can be out. Truck will be chained up and slow going tomorrow morning. One semi came down the highway while I was out with the dogs an hour ago. He had his drivers chained and was going 25 in a 65 .

    32° and raining/icing. I've been burning split oak branches I have in the house. I need to restock the wood ring today. It's supposed to stop raining by 1P. I'm also hoping to split the dozen or so locust rounds in my driveway, before they freeze to the blacktop. Plus, I'm having Thanksgiving at my house, so plenty to do inside as well.

    Drove to an appointment last Fri morning through that freezing drizzle. There were only a couple spots where someone had gotten too impatient and opened a new driveway in the snowbank!
