Don't clean your thermometer

    Did a little stove cleaning today. Too wet from the melting snow to do any useful work outside. Cleaned up the glass, surround, and the stove top with vinegar windex. Works great ... Except for the thermostat. I started getting what looked like black ash off the top, and then all the markings just wiped off!

    chit .

    I gotta say I like my Drolet stuff....the stove is great, surround looks good and the thermometer was reasonably accurate. But damm that paint seems pretty wimpy

    Sorry. Dear husband has "cleaned off" the markings on our 6 burner cook top stove too. New in 2014. I learned my lesson with the cleaner "Fantastik" years ago.....

    That just allows you to put new markings on the thermometer. I suggest these readings;

    Cold, Good, Gooder, and Choochin'.
