So I noticed that my door latch on my Buck 74 was sticking and very difficult to move. Im hoping that there is some kind of spray grease that can take the high temps that yall could recommend. I really don't want to take the hande off because it has 2 roll pins that would have to be drove out. Any suggestions as to what I could use as far as lubrication?
Might have some in your kitchen cabinets now...Pam. Graphite works too...dry or spray...lil more messy though.
I used good ol WD-40...lightly and apprehensively, but had absolutely no issues with it at all! Used it on the hinge pins of the NC-13.

I've picked up a can of exactly what's pictured at Home Depot but an auto parts store may have it or something similar. It works but as mentioned you have to be careful using it or you can have a nice mess on your hands. 3 in 1 oil is my go to anymore for hinge pins and door latch. May have to apply a few times a season.
Never thought of 3 in 1 oil. Has anybody ever tried brake caliper grease?? Wonder how that would work?
Well I went with the brake caliper grease and it worked great. I also found out the the 2 set screws tbat attaches the latch to the handle shaft weren't tightned down completley causing the shaft to back out. This was putting the handle in a bind. So i took it out, greased the doors hole, the shaft, and the back side of the latch that contacts the door, pushed it on tight, set the screws and put the latch tensioning screw on. Now it works beautifully. Back to cruising again with no worries about the handle and trying to get the door latched tight.
Good to hear you got it worked out. I just read this and was going to comment as it is probably the same latch set up as mine.
