The internet is your friend, lol. I found out about it around 2 yrs ago, a guy was using it to repair carbon fiber parts on a drone. He put the super glue on it, then dusted it with the baking soda. I tried it on my gloves, it makes the super glue harden, and stronger, sandable, etc, etc It really works
I have tried duct tape but it ends up sticking to my fingers and falling off pretty quick. I find it annoying.
These are actually Oilfield gloves. "Riggers" with cut level 5 protection. We were selling some of the Kong line when the Utica Shale stuff took off a couple years back. Very high quality gloves (and pricey). I believe the palm/fingers will stay grippy even with crude oil on it, IIRC. Found out recently that Ironclad (parent co of Kong) got into a little financial crunch and was bought by Brighton Best Int'l Inc., who I know as a fastener supplier, which I thought was kind of odd. I own several pairs of the Ironclad gloves...good stuff, I just don't use them for splitter duties anymore.
So I'm cutting on a log pile this morning and it was 12 degrees when I started which meant time for some gloves and I really really can't stand em. It's now up to 22 with bright sunshine and zero wind so bye bye gloves! Wouldn't be able to go gloveless if there was any wind so I'm thankful for that.
My best gloves are the free ones. The last company I worked for before retiring gave us a pair of gloves a day as part of the safety program. Since I was supervision, I hardly used mine. The outside crews would usually throw them on the ground when they were sopping wet with rain (Washington State). I would pick them up when ever I saw them and once a week would run gloves twice through the wash machine on sani-cycle. I had a bunch of 5 gal. plastic buckets full of gloves when I retired. I have been steadily using them for six years for metal work, firewood or anything that requires gloves. I am down to my last few buckets! I'm sure it will be a shock to my system when I actually have to buy some!
Bought a pair of these ones, unfortunatly the wrong size so i gave them to the wifey. They are well made, kept her hands warm and blackberry thorns been no issue. Well i gonnae order the right size and will use them for cutting wood.. ill keep you folks updated.
These are the gloves I like for wood handling. The 4x version of Mechanix gloves lasts a lot longer and fits well and good dexterity.
Pretty sure the rubber on the glove was a magnet chuck. Full tube of the sporin so far Rock. Grabbed a bunch of dead wood back north JC and was using my wife's 310 like this guy. And it bounced down the small limb in the back of the truck. Wont be doing it again that's for sure.
