The wife will load our stove again in an hour or so. It's 44f here now and raining and cloudy. I pretty much burn oak all season. Just vary the quality, size , amount and how often I load it. We just have lots of oak, it takes just as much effort for me tO target a low but wood as it does oak.

Wow! It's 60º here. I lit the fire last night but let it die out. It's pouring and nasty wet out!

8 degrees this morning. Burning uglies. Stepped outside and a deer came after my wife's ankle biter dog. That will wake you up! She got hit two weeks ago by a doe, and I guess will eventually go blind in one eye.
Looks like the sun will be on my shoulders today.

27 here now. Not supposed to get above freezing today and down in the teens tonight. Boiler still working on whatever I put in there last night, I'm sure. Haven't went out to check it yet.

That "measurable snow" we were supposed to get last night didn't happen. If you look outside right now you can't see a single flake.

Was forecast to hit a low of 18 last night. OAT was 23 when I got up (about 7:30), with a high of 25. Snow coming down again.
Looks to be another 1/4" or so on the ground right now.
Good thing we plan to stay home today or I might end up parking in a ditch.:picard::rofl:
Stove was only warm this morning, and all the wood is in the shed,.....which is outside,.......which is why I turned up the T-stat. I'll go out and grab a couple sticks of Pine and a few Beech to get a fire going pretty soon....-ish. This :coffee: sure is good though. Dogs have been fed. I'm on FHC, with snow falling outside......it''s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

33*F Rain Snow mix just enough to cover the ground. Burning Pine in the OWB just have to make sure to put more pine on before it goes out (does not hold a bed of coals)

Yeah, we FHCers know that nothing is free, don't we?
T-stat got turned down a few minutes ago, and there's now a nice fire in the stove. Ahhhhh:D

I'm not sure we'll have even a White TG. Looks like a warm-up after today into the 30s, and next Wed. & Thurs. into the low 40s.

Looks like we have a reprieve from the cold until Thursday night if the forecast is to be believed. They can't seem to predict any further than 12 hours out with any accuracy, so fingers crossed. Currently -8 C feels -12 C, or 18 F feels 11 F, and heading up to -5 C or 23 F this afternoon. Poplar and siberian elm uglies in the reactor.

Was a nice weekend for burning, and the most I've burned since getting the stove, man it's been great. Chilly forecast for the next week around here, lows in the upper 20's, low 30's!!!

It's cold out there today with a stiff NW breeze. A bit of snow overnight makes everything white again and this one might stay a few days.

Temp hasn't gone up any today. Been sitting at 27 or 28 since early AM. That N wind makes it feel seriously chilly. Just fed the boiler a 1/3 load of hedge and black locust. Should be good for another 24 hours.

Executive decisions that require multiple cups of coffee such as trying to decide whether to get dressed for the day and even go outside or not must be rough when one is retired.

wunderground and weather.com both have 10 day forecasts- they're not written in stone, just ones and zeroes.
