63C09EDF-230D-4D60-83DB-E08FAD698096.jpeg Similar temps as bear 1998. 24F with a windchill of 20F. Getting into the 40s later today. Currently an even 70F in the house running a mix of ash, cherry and tree of heaven. Should be running the Kuuma furnace most of the week.

Just a dusting overnight...nothing more than an inch or two....."tracking snow"

The official total for yesterday was 16" (for me). Not too shabby.

This pic shows about 20F on the back porch this morning. According to the trees there is a slight breeze.

Last nights 3/4 load of straight Maple did well for 10 1/2 hours. I just put 1/2 load of Maple and Pine in on the few remains of red coals and it took off.

I politely asked that she hold off on the white stuff until I have everything put under cover and I am mentally ready. After today I’ll have everything under cover. I’ll probably never be mentally ready, so let it fly.:dex:

I must be getting old because I had a dream last night that my firewood was dry and I had a large EPA stove. :)

Not as cold last night and the house was a bit too warm for good sleeping. Still 84 in here. Dang it, that feels good to especially after being outdoors then coming inside. Feels great! Also not so many clothes needed especially for the females! Great!

Had a couch nap last night, fed the stove a few pieces of poplar, and took another good run at a sleep. Unfortunately, that means it got chilly in here but I fixed that in a hurry. I thought my gal was going to go hit the thermostat on ole rumbly, but nope she seems to be part polar bear at least some of the time. Current temps -9 C feels -18 C or 16 F feels 0 F. Those 20-25 mph wind gust pull the heat right out of this place it seems!

We had a blizzard in 76 or 77 . No one could believe it. The streets were just chucked full of snow. Plows couldn’t keep up. The streets were down to one car width wide. Us kids were out of school for a long time. We were getting in trouble for jumping off roofs into the snow.

Decided to go with an evening loading schedule instead of morning. Put a little extra in there this morning to get me to 36 hours. Still didn't fill it half full.

Got some temps deep into the teens forecast for Tuesday night then we're supposed to have a warmup.

We would do the same thing in the early 60's! Flying saucer rides from the peak of the roof to the yard without ever leaving the snow. It was piled up right to the eaves!

Of course, that was when all the experts were predicting another ice age......:loco:

I could have written the same post. We were there, we did it. 24 here now and Oak is bringing the heat.

Mid 20s this morning. Feels like it’s warming up a little since last night when I went out.

Maple and Pine mix in boiler.

20 degrees outside this morning and they’re saying this will be our first week of winter. Record lows on Wednesday with wind chill in the single digits and snow to the coastline Friday. It’ll be a nice balmy 40 today with no wind but we’ve been going back and forth between rain and high winds and this looks like a one day break. Better fill the wood racks. Burning pine this morning and we’re at 78.
