Low 30s here, had some snow on the hill this evening but seems to have shifted to a good healthy new England mix now, rain and snow having at it together.

Came home to Mrs Papi getting supper together and 82 in the dining room.. She does like it warm!

 

34 at the moment going to be 21 tonight and we have allot colder weather coming in the next few days got some black oak and maple in the stove now been spitting a little snow along with it being windy sure is nice and toasty in here

 

27F here, windchill of 22. Got 3" of snow this morning that melted. Got 2-4" of Lake Effect coming tonight they say. I thought the boiler was actually gonna have to work for a minute, but not really. Loaded with Silver Maple & a little Oak. 75 in the house. 70 in the shop.

 

Yeah, we're still getting nailed here! I had to shovel my way to the OWB just now. There is an easy 10" and still snowing to beat the band out there.

Hope everyone on the highways stays safe. This storm reminds me a little of the one that the Edmund Fitzgerald ran into back in 1975. That one started the same way. The 9th of Nov in 75 is when the Fitzgerald sank by the way.

 

Currently 30.4° winds are calm and we're looking at a low in the teens again.

First snowfall tonight. Will be out in the morning playing with chainsaws and other manly pursuits.
Warming up Sunday, so I plan to refill the woodshed next to the boiler. Have my helpers coming.

 

we are no ware near snow yet, but you never know,6-30 in the morning wind is gone and rain stopped,and a full pot of coffee.

 

37* an hour ago....dropped to 34* now...sleet n snow mixed this mornin...its actually layin....winds are pickin up...30 -40 mph gusts today....burnin some red oak n maple today.

 

Looks like u folks in upper new england have winter storm warnings n watches....

 

First snow yesterday. High 20s. Friend coming over later, so burning romance wood...black cherry.

 

Here's how it's burning 15% oak slabs Max oak BTUs . 54 inch x 36 inch x 36 inch fire box . That's all that's need for 8 hours heating 6600sqft. 14f out .

31 on the back porch this morning. Straight Maple finishing out the overnight. Then switch to a Pine and Maple mix.

23 OAT right now, and still snowing lightly. We may have 1.5" out there. T-stat says 71.
Had a decent fire last night with mostly Beech, and not all of it was in great shape. Thinking about getting another fire going after first .
