I had an Old English Bitter and maybe I'll break out some Highland Heavy Ale next.

    gbreda,

Best not wish that on anyone, seems that Oslo is already plotting his escape so it must be really bad like when my boss piles the rabbit food up in a bowl placed in front of me. It would be fine if I was a rabbit.

I plotted my escape before I even started this :) It's amazing how dependent folks are on sugar.

At least soon Jet, you'll look down your property and see your firewood all dry in your new shed… while an ocean dumps down on everything else…

Good. Oswegatchie is up even higher but I have not been down since last night. This was it last night. May have posted it already. Can't do anything outside of course. Just to wet now. Rain. Turned to snow now.

    How about your way?

I'm into this for 3 full days so far. My body is starting to moderate now, less headaches and irritability. Lost 7 pds. so far, 7 days to go. I just want the crappy feeling to go away.
I can just imagine having a beer when this is all over, my body will probably go into shock. :)

Just spent the last 2 hours making chocolate covered pretzels for my kiddos Easter treats tomorrow. I totally deserve mom of the year, what a pain in the azz! Boys were happy though so it was worth it! :)

Good so far, I'm hoping the levels go down during the night. I just opened the front door, what a roar coming from the water in the Raquette River across the road.

I don't think we'll get to flood stage.

Rivers might raise h*ll tonight here I'm afraid. Still have lots of snow up north melting fast and now it's pouring. Water power is impressive isn't it Wood?

Yes it is, we had about seven bridges blowout in the fall one year, the Brook was so high (three feet over the road) it took the bridge out on our street an the one on Rte. 56.

When I ran heavy equipment we did a lot of stream restoration. You would be amazed at what damage even a tiny trickle of a stream can do with enough rain. Every engineer tried to outdo the other or try something new. Water does what it wants to. Hope all is well for everyone.

Our old farm is on a gravel road that had a pretty steep section, between 2 stone walls along both sides. One spring, that entire section of the road washed away off into a field, leaving a 20' wide by 8' deep ditch between the stone walls. Couldn't even get a huge skidder up through it. Town spent tens of thousands of $$$ dumping gravel back in at the top and worked their way down. The crew did a great job. We had no way out for a week. Then, miraculously, a 4' diameter culvert appeared up above some time later… ;)
