Official Shemane Witmer (Leadfarmer's Daughter) Raffle Thread

Some may know already, everyone else will know soon but one of our OPE & FHC family is hurting. Last Sunday Shemane Witmer (Daughter of Rodney Leadfarmer) suffered a terrible accident. She was helping out at a charity firewood GTG and was running the splitter and had an accident. She has lost most of her right index finger and has done damage to her middle finger as well.

Shemane & Rodney need our help so in our usual style we are having a raffle to raise some funds to help them out. Shemane’s life has been changed forever and will have some ongoing expenses as well as initial medical and rehab ones. She uses her hands everyday for everything she does, I know I know we all do but think about this...

She works for a landscaping company as an equipment operator, for sure going to be slower and need some retraining on the joysticks without an index finger. She is Rodney’s best hunting buddy and is now going to have to relearn everything she knows about shooting and who knows, may need to have modifications made to her guns while learning to pull the trigger with her middle finger.

Since the original accident she has been back to the hospital at least twice for further work on her hand, let us all wish her a speedy recovery and make it so she doesn’t need to rush anything, can heal properly and get back to doing the things she loves.

Did I mention she’s a member of the local fire and rescue unit? She should be responding to accidents, not being treated at one, let’s help her get back to that.

Usual raffle format each $10 donation will be 1 ticket in the raffle, raffle drawdate will be December 31st or January 1st . The prize list will be up shortly but it is over 40 items and includes at least 10 saws.

Leadfarmer is good people! He'd give ya the shirt off his back if you needed it. I had a great time meeting him at the northern Michigan Gtg in September. I'll be ringing the go fund me bell later today, and praying for an optimal recovery for his Daughter.

 

Hope she is soon on the mend.

I have marked the prizes (WPS) Winner Pays Shipping or (DPS) Donor Pays Shipping, the default was winner pays shipping so unless I was told otherwise that is how I marked it. Some of these will likely need changing just let me know.

 

In previous raffles the tickets would still be drawn in your name and them donated to the beneficiary of the raffle. ie is Pallet Pete's name gets drawn then Shemane would pick in his place.

 

An anonymous GFM donation just keeps your name from being put on the public page, the people running the GFM get all the names.
