Auger motor died - hitch pin broke - Auger shaft hole torn & part of pin stuck & pellets stop feedin

    Hello
    Stove is the big US Stove 6041 Multi-Fueler.
    Pellets stop feeding after 45 mins
    I could not bang the auger motor off because the part of the hitch pin stuck inside turned and jambed up the auger motor shaft inside the auger shaft! What a disaster!!! Had to cut the motor shaft with a sawzal!
    Auger bearing is scored and also has black carbon inside!
    Has anyone seen this??

    Stove is 10 years old.
    We put in a new auger, Auger Motor, hitch pin & auger bearing. :)

    I have seen these augers so torn that the bottom section completely ripped off and the auger motor was Lying on the bottom of the stove! I always recommend 100% softwood pellets for these stoves because these auger shafts are 1/2” in diameter where most are 5/8” in diameter except the Whitfield augers that are 3/4” in diameter! Why do they make the Whits 3/4” ?? They never break :)
