As many of you know, my wife and I foster/adopt "hard to place" dogs. Usually this means older dogs +/- medical problems. We are happy to provide them with a loving and caring environment for their end-of- life experience. Also, we have had the greyt fortune to adopt two greyhounds: Hank 2002-2009 RIP and TickTack 2009-present. On other forums I am "greyhound" or "blackgreyhounds" . BTW, black dogs are by far the hardest to adopt out. So tonight, TickTack's rear end has been giving him big problems. We took him to the Vet (she is GREAT, and knows we do only hospice-type care), and she gave us plenty of drugs to make sure he's in no pain and minimal anxiety. However, she knows we will be "saying goodbye" sooner than later. For those of you who have made it this far, here's pictures of him when we got him at 5 y.o. and today at the Vet, almost 10 yrs. later. Always regal!!!

I hope the ol' boy goes peacefully when it's time. Until then enjoy the moments with him. There are few things in life that are better than a good dog.

Ticktack is doing much better lately. We've added gabapentin to his NSAID, snd it really seems to ne helping. Thanks shain for all the kind thoughts.
