    White paint showing up on stove top?
    Burned a little hotter last night.
    Now have white bleeding thru the black paint ???

    That is pretty bizarre, bogydave. Looks from here like something dragged or rubbed across the surface. Does it scrape off, or is it below the paint surface? Almost looks like some plastic or something was rubbed on the surface and melted onto it, then turned white... Or if it's below the paint, what the heck is white? Surely not steel plate..

    I would guess either the paint they used was defective or some sort of contamination that was painted over. Heat will cause substrates to rise.

    I cried before I was hurt:(

    Wife was down early this AM
    staining some wood by the stove.
    Splattered some.
    Used something for clean up that turned white
